What's "Najeonchilgi"?
The najeon refers to the technical artistic Traditional crafts of Korea used to decorate articles with mother-of-pearl. Lacquerware inlaid with mother-of-pearl is made of a shell grown in a deep sea and a wood grown on a high mountain so the spirit of a high mountain and the energy of a deep sea are mixed to make yin-yang harmony.
Korean mother-of-pearl made from the shining, nchangeable beauty of pearl oyster or abalone, is considered to be the jewel of the Orient.
There is a legend that once it is kept by home, family get to harmonize with each other, their positions go high, and mind and properties become affluent. Therefore, it has been regularly used by royal family or nobility in the Orient from old times.
